Robert Mouawad acquired a superb D flawless pear-shaped diamond of 60.19
carats at auction at Christies on November 16th, 2000 for 7,159,750 swiss francs, or about US $5,358,838.

He named this perfect gemstone the "Mouawad Mondera" by
Mouawad, in the presence of his sons Fred and Alain, respectively responsible for Mondera.com and
Roberge.
Said Robert Mouawad, reflecting on his latest purchase:
"I chose to name this unique stone The Mouawad Mondera
because, to me, it brings together the traditional world of
family jewelers and the new economy as represented
by Mondera.com."
