In 2004 The Virgin Rainbow
Black Opal was subject of a documentary on Opal Fever commissioned by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation made by Piper
Films South Australia, professional members of the South Australian Film
Industry, under an arrangement with Film Finance Corporation of Australia and other backers.

That documentary went to air on Australian television
early in 2005 as a four part half hour mini series.
The Virgin Rainbow Black Opal featured in a 12 minute segment in the final series on March 1st 2005.

It was broadcast in Australia - the international rights to screen the documentary as a
one hour version are presently subject to negotiations in UK, US and Europe.
