by Tin Bui, Bui Tin, Do Van
Paperback (1999)
An indepth look at Vietnamese Government after 1975.
Bui Tin has written a remarkable story about the Vietnamese government and the
social chaos that went on which no one outside of Viet Nam ever knew about it after 1975.
Thanks to him we now know that life was easier during the time of war than peace
time.
Ho
by David Halberstam
Paperback (1986)
The book "HO" talks about the rise of the communist party in Vietnam. How Ho Chi
Minh, who was a
native born North Vietnamese, decided to liberate his country from the French who were
there for over 40 years. The book, HO also talks about how Ho became to be the leader he
was. And his travels to France as a young boy in 1912, to Russia, and even to the Bronx in
NY. The story discusses how Ho also was a great follower of both Karl
Marx and Lenin, which is where he got most of his idea
about Communism. Ho also describes his hatred
towards the colonalization by the French of his country, and later discribes how he formed
a Communist Party to overthrow the French. How Ho eventually succeeded in the battle of
Biendienfu, which was the final straw in kicking the French out of N. Vietnam, and
eventually out of S. Vietnam
