I was asked to write this small book when serving with
"B" Sqn, 21 SAS. That is what the book is about;
the bones of the truth about the birth, growth and development of the Regiment.
In WW2, post WW2 with the Greeks, Belgians and French.
The campaigns that gave the SAS family
little brothers such as the Rhodesians, Australians and New Zealanders. |
A complete course in how to survive outdoors, on land
or sea, in any weather, in any part of the world.
Absolutely the best. This book is absolutely the best I've seen so far. Graphical
details en easy to understand concepts. This book is a must have for all outdoors people
and especially scouts and Royal Rangers!
Excellent Reference. "The SAS Survival Handbook" is an excellent source of
information on the art of survival. It contains excellent diagrams and graphics and
even the most seasoned of survivalists may learn something new. A must for your
library, backpack, boat, bunker or bomb shelter... |

From 1963 to 1966 Britain successfully waged a secret
war to keep the Federation of Malaysia free from domination by Sukarno's Indonesia and by Chinese Communists.
At the forefront of this campaign was the SAS, Special Air Service, an elite
branch of the military whose essence is secrecy and whose tools are bold initiative,
surprise, and high skill.
Working in four-man patrols, the SAS teams first made friends with the head-hunting border
tribes and even trained some of them as an irregular military force.
As the
conflict continued, SAS teams went beyond the borders into Indonesia, where they tracked
clown enemy camps, fired on supply mutes, staged ambushes, and attacked the soldiers in
their riverboats.
